The Waterloo Bucks baseball team is a member of the prestigious Northwoods League and will celebrate their 25th season of baseball in the Cedar Valley in 2019. Opening night for their 25th season is slated for Tuesday, May 28, but that’s not the only exciting thing happening at the ballpark.
The Waterloo Bucks play a 36 game season and offer fans of all ages a fun and inexpensive activity to do in the Cedar Valley over the summer months. Visit their website at WaterlooBucks.com to see their entire promotional list of theme nights, daily specials, and fireworks, not to mention America’s favorite past time. What more could you want in an area attraction?
For the first time since 1996 Waterloo will be host to the All-Star Game for the Northwoods League. This year’s All-Star Game festivities are sponsored by Experience Waterloo and the Cedar Valley Sports Commission to help us showcase our beautiful city.
During this two day event on July 15 and 16, the best players in the Northwoods League will come to Waterloo and compete at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium. On Monday, July 15 the All-Star Banquet will be held at the Cedar Valley SportsPlex with keynote speaker, wrestling legend Dan Gable. On Tuesday, July 16 the top athletes in our league will square off in a home run derby sponsored by Coca-Cola and Body Armor, followed by the All-Star Game beginning at 7:05pm.
In the spring of 2019, the Bucks built new Bullpen Field Boxes along the left field, bullpen area. These new areas are designed for supreme viewing of the game and allow for small groups to enjoy a semi-private atmosphere with your choice of the ticket only, or a food and beverage package with your tickets. The Bucks have built four Bullpen Field Boxes to accommodate up to 60 people total or a single box can be a nice intimate area for a few couples.
The first pitch of the Bucks 25th season will be thrown on Tuesday, May 28 and single game tickets for all 36 of the Bucks regular season home games, AND the 2019 All-Star Game go on sale Wednesday, May 1 at 10am. You can follow the Bucks across their social media platforms including, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
The Cedar Valley can’t wait to open the doors at the ballpark and invite everyone to have a GREAT TIME out at the Bucks in 2019.
